In a world full of distractions and fleeting communication, we often miss the moment of giving each other our full attention. Many of us feel that absence. This is an invitation to be present in silence, without distractions, where only eye contact remains.
Team up with someone and enter the installation from both sides. Stay as long as you want. Whether discomfort, laughter, or deep emotion arises, it is all part of the experience.
Will you take this moment?
Material:
The installation consists of eight custom-bent steel tubes, each 2.5 metres long. These can be slid into each other in pairs to form four bent tubes of 5 metres, which together form the main line of the construction. The tubes are supported by ten steel uprights of 2.5 metres high, which connect the bent elements and provide stability. The PVC strips and the polycarbonate dividing wall have been sanded semi-matt by hand, so that you can only see the silhouette of the other. The openings between the strips create a transparent effect: visible, yet shielded. Due to the light transmission and partial translucency, the materials absorb the colours of the surroundings, so that the work subtly blends into the space.
